    where are the d7000 reviews

hello all, im ready to pull the trigger on a d90 but want to see some d7000 reviews before hand to see if i can justify the extra 300bucks. im sure it takes a while to do a full review but i would also assume that reviewers get units early like in other electronic fields?

    Assumptions can be dangerous things
A very few privileged sites that seem to be favoured by manufacturers get pre release review products but many others have to rely on units that are either borrowed from local sources or are supplied by manufacturers as and when they feel like it. Ethical sites should never do a review on a pre release product anyway without clearly informing their readers that the product is pre release.

I think this is true for certain electronic products such as video cards where often on the announced date of release, there are large numbers of ready to go interviews.

But even in this case above, it is usually for top-of-the-line products and for Nikon, this would be the D3s/D3x model line and not the D7000.

I think the question is: Where are the D7000s?

Even in Japan, the D7000 isn't available until this week. And I'd wait for a thorough review rather than a rush job.

There are some reviews of review units, but since they (often) aren't production units - they may sometimes be taken with a grain of salt.

Had one in my hands last Monday but didn't buy the kit.
Handled it in the store under Best Buy supervision for almost an hour.
Seems like a sweet camera. Couple things to justfy your $300 bucks??
    - Dual memory card slots
    - Faster fps
    - 2 user settings on mode dial
    - ISO- tried sample in review at 25k in store no nr, pretty stinkin nice
    - Higher res
    - 1/8000 ss vs 1/4000 if needed, you know if you are on the sun
    - 39 af points w/ 9 cross type sensor vs 11 with only 1 have feeling this is big improvement
    - Metering sensor 2016 RGB pixel up from 403

I think it would be extra money well spent, just imho

Been reading some user first impressions, couple had experience with hot pixels,
    especially in lower light video.

This may be the end of one of the last D50 stalwarts.

    never!!!!:d

Seriously though, I plan on this being my next camera to serve as a backup to my D700. The wife has caught the bug and has been helping me at weddings. She has already learned the discrepancy between the D200 I hand her and my D700. I would like to see some comprehensive reviews but I don't plan to buy for a few months anyway.

A significant other with NAS? Maybe you should add this to your gear list in your signature, this would be high on the wishlist of many in this forum

Could be?? But been saying I will upgrade for years now.
My dad just bought a D90 this week, so now I got two family
members into photography and I am behind the times now.
My brother has a D90 as well.
