    Canon 5DII +300mm 2.8L IS and Josie

Just picked up a Canon 300mm 2.8L IS before the new one comes out and the price goes up, and WOW, I have a new favorite lens!

    Nice.

But the difference in the torso and legs doesnt work for me in this case..

Btw, why would the price go up... it'd go down on the old models and lots of users would sell theirs to replace with the newer one.

Thats generally how it goes anyways.

I think he meant the price of the new one would be more than the price of the old one.

Csae: thanks for the input, but what difference between the torso and legs are you referring to? I don't usually shoot models so I welcome your input.

TheWengler was right, Canon was projecting a $2000 increase in price on the new version so I jumped on the older model since there is very little change in IQ.

The sun looks like it's passing through some tree branches and is casting a slight shadow over her torso, so her legs are slightly brighter.

What does everything about this? Do you think they will stop making the v1 of the 300mm f/2.8? At what point will suppliers like B&H stop selling them? I do realize that more might come for sale as people look to upgrade, but not sure I want a used (and abused) one. I would really like one and its like on my dream list. Now that I'm shooting a lot more outdoor sports, I can probably justify it, but there is no way I could afford the II one.
