Grrr Les, I bought lighting gear 6 months ago worth over $1,000 SB900 + SB600 + brollies, backdrop and stands fired with CLS (which I'm finding unreliable).

Got a 70-200vr should arrive in the next couple days wanna really give it a work out and see if I can justify the outlay or not
Man I don't miss 18-55 55-200 if I were able to go back I would have started with something different but it's all good because now I can appreciate the differences

DON'T show us any sample photos as my wife is already hinting that a nice (read large and expensive) diamond eternity ring for her would be fair considering all the money I spend on my photographic gear.............

Seriously, congrats on the new lens. I've been very impressed with the photos I've seen on this forum from the 70-200. I'm sure you'll get some great shots with it.

Just bought a knock off battery grip (Meike), seriously cheap ($70 USD). Works fine but personally I value a better build quality so have some regrets. It's fun to play with though.

I'm nervous to re-attach my Blackrapid strap which mounts under the camera (ie now under the battery grip) as 'm concerned a plastic knock off grip won't support the weight of the D300 + 70-200 + SB900.

How are you finding the Black Rapid strap? I love mine, couldn't go without it now.

I do like it a lot but it's not perfect.

Pro's
Makes it much more pleasant to carry a 2.8 lens. looks better. keeps strap out of way of viewfinder in portrait orientation.

Cons
It keeps flicking the screen protector off and it puts the cam at an odd angle against my leg (focus switch on the 24-70 gets knocked to M all the time).

I don't have either of those issues.
