So it looks like we have some people with some glass. I guess nobody owns a tripod collection or a light set up or remote triggers or a remote release or a pile of 700 memory cards or a library of photographic books.
It's a shame there are no lateral thinkers left.

Maybe I'll do a GND filter post when I get a chance

Found some time to get some pictures of my equipment. It is all very basic, but I am quite happy with it. I do plan on picking up a set of Ebay radio triggers and possibly an umbrella to tinker around with. As well, I am thinking about picking up a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and a ND filter along with a polarizing filter.

Here are my two lenses. 18-55 VR kit lens and the complementing 55-200 VR. As well my SB-600 is centered in the middle with the Sto-fen Omni Bounce.




Then, I have my two tripods that I use. The larger one is a Promaster light duty tripod, and the small one is a GorillaPod knock-off that I rarely use. I should really pick up a stronger duty tripod, but it is at the back of the to-buy list as of right now.




This is my bag. I have labeled on the picture what each item is. Only difference now is the the camera lays on its left side so that it fits in with the battery grip on. Here is a link to the thread with more pictures of the bag. http://www.dcresource.com/forums/sho...t=47946&page=4



Here is most of my accesories. In the picture are two non-name brand batteries (Came with my LinkDelight battery grip), Promaster UV Filter, Promaster Battery, Nikon Battery (In camera), Wireless Remote, LinkDelight battery grip, 2 Promaster 2gb memory cards, Promaster 4gb Class 6 memory card, and a USB SD card adaptor.

Tripods, tripods, tripods... From left to right: Benro A-358 EX with Benro HD-28 head, Velbon sherpa 600r, Velbon df-60,
Benro A-268m8 with Benro B-1 ballhead, 25 dollar prozigma tripod I used "back in the day" with various compact cameras.
(And the best thing I ever bought myself in the background: Sony KDS-55a2000 55" tv. Love it!)



Prozigma: It cost about 25 USD, and can handle a canon powershot cam - not much else. Did what I expected from it, and it was
worth every penny.

Velbon DF-60: All plastic tripod, but kinda sturdy. Thick plastic. Didn't use it much, and just havn't bothered with selling it. Can't
recommend it to anyone..

Velbon sherpa 600: I've used this for ages. Every picture on my site that has been taken with a tripod have been with this tripod.
I've just bought the benro a-358 to replace it because the sherpa has a tendency to vibrate a bit when there's a wind or by the
slightest touch. But, as I said: used it for ages, and it hasn't worn out or fallen apart or anything. A great "beginner" tripod and 10 out
of 10 for value for money.

Benro A-268m8 + b-1: Super compact tripod, excellent for when you want to travel light, going on a plane etc. Folded it's only
16.8" (42.7cm) and maximum hight is 60" (152.3cm). But I hate (with a passion) how you lock the legs, so I only use it when I
need to travel light/pack small. Not super happy with the ballhead either..



Benro A-358 EX + HD-28: Got it today. Havn't used it. First impressions are positive. Seems really sturdy. I think we're going
to get along just great.

I've been using these 30mb/sec cards for a while, and decided to try a quicker one - so I bought the 60mb/sec today. Shooting
uncompressed NEF files on the D700 with a 30mb card, it managed 16 shots continuous in high speed, before it started to struggle.
With the 60mb card, it managed 18 shots. But the time the camera spent writing data from the buffer over to the card felt like less than
half the time on the 60mb compared to the 30mb. So I won't be getting anything but 60mb cards or faster from now on.
