Is there a dslr under 1 K that can auto focus in HD mode like this one and take 1080 video in addition to the full manual controls you prefer?
You took a photo of what?
i'd rather pay more to have something usefull...still waiting for the a999 i guess..
I'm not saying it doesn't have a purpose. for most that have no clue how to use manual features, it is great.

one major drawback is if you have any kind of lighting that strobes in video...you can adjust out the strobe effect with comp..but the auto screws it back up the minute the frame changes a little lighter or darker

I think your point is well made....that would be 95% of us...
Well..it will have to do for now ..lol
at least i can use the grip i made/save from my old a100...just needed a little trimming..but hooked right up..I can at least pretend its a real camera
I'd swear the specs used to say that it used the same battery as the a900...they do go fast
For most video i will still use my big video cam...but if i need a fisheye or telephoto beyond 200mm this will have to do...

A clueless amateur with a new toy...be kind...
1/100s ƒ/5.6 ISO 400 at 55 mm
Don't feel to clueless, after all you're here.
I saw a huge web at the metal yard the other day.....didn't have my camera though
figures..they drop the price the day mine arrives..bastards
what's the story?
I bought mine from a well reputed photo shop in my town on Friday. They gave me $50 off the list price in addition to 2 year warranty right out of the box...which is uncommon, typically more 1 year.
Lots of returns i'm guessing...poor battery life..no manual controls in vid...pita to use
