    When I think about it, the comparison is mute. Advantage a55, however a respectable salute to Nex 5 for design and offering lens interchangeability.

    The diverse availability of A-mount lenses, in body optical stabilization, and phase detect auto focus are the deal breakers for me.

    Have had one put aside for me this evening. Will pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait.

    Can't wait to get some images. How did it feel in your hands. I went today to check them out and they were out of stock. They said they got four A33's in and they went in a few days.

    feels kind of like a compact dslr..which is obvious i guess..

    oddly enough, in my town, sonystyle stores are out...and have a significant waiting list...meanwhile photo specialty shops have stock....same price...in fact service in the photo specialty shops is better...

    well I got it today! going to 'play around' and 'discover' over the next several days.....so far looking great....the video is impressive....

    does it give you full manual control in video mode?

    aperature and shutter angle(speed)

    This should help you. In a nutshell, aperture 'yes', ISO and shutter speed are set automatically....still a significant advancement for a DSLR-like cam.....

    More than enough for average 'Joe' photo and movie taker here.....

    SO STILL NO FULL CONTROL OF SHUTTER ISO..ECT...AND YOU CAN'T TURN OFF THE AUTO....

    AND NO DEDICATED VIDEO MODE, SO YOU CAN DO ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE YOU HIT RECORD...PRETTY MUCH SAME CRAP AS A NEX-5...
