A55 Dimensions (Approx.) : Approx. 4-7/8 x 3-5/8 x 3-1/3” (124.4 x 92 x 84.7mm) (W/H/D) excl grip & lens mount

Looks the same to me. Got these right from Sony Style.

Yeah but when you look at it side by side, it looks smaller. Noticed that from the Henry's video and from another video yesterday. I think it is cause the PUF bulge is different.

It did look that way that is why I went to the site to check.

I'm having trouble deciding between the Nex 5 or Alpha 55.....I'm nowhere near the connaisseur most of you are....they seem to produce comparable images...priced practically the same....
i am leaning towards the Alpha 55 due to more lens options at the moment, but eventually more E mount lenses will be produced....

I don't see this as a viable pairing for an either/or choice. These are essentially two completely different cameras even though the Image quality is similar.
The NEX is a dinky little thing and all about portability although how the 18-55mm and 18-200mm fit that bill is debatable.
It looks good as a second camera that you can take anywhere especially with pancake primes.
Compared to the A55 you have to give up a lot...
A-Mount compatibility
EVF for stable eye level shooting (big factor for me)
In body stabilisation (major factor)
Phase Detect AF during video (this is a HUGE factor)
GPS
You really need to decide whether you can fore-go these features for the sake of size unless, of course, it's a second camera.
