    Canon batteries vs. imitation batteries

    Hi,

SORRY to post this topic here, but I want to buy batteries now.

    Relata refero:

I am getting a new Canon PowerShot SX210 IS. I need to buy more batteries.

Should I get the Canon batteries or imitation?

I have a Canon Powershot TX1, and when I bought the imitation batteries for it, it seemed like they died quick.

    Can someone please help me?

"Name-brand" batteries are in fact imitation batteries, simply with a different label.

Eneloops are high-regarded AAs. For you camera, I think Lenmar (through Adorama or B&H) may make one to fit. I got a battery for less than 1/2 price and it works fine.

The SX210 doesn't take AAs, it takes the Canon NB-5L. I generally have the Canon battery that came with my camera and 1 or 2 3rd party batteries that I buy from a reputable company (like B&H or NewEgg). The 3rd party NB-5L I have is an Impact brand, and it seems to work just as well as the Canon one.

Check Batteries America; great people with excellent prices and service. I swear... they have batteries for almost anything out there.
