    what you're talking about is really the holy grail of flash photography; how can a mechanical shutter sync faster than 1/250 odd. guys like david hobby carry around a d40 for the express purpose that its shutter can sync to 1/500 from memory.

    D70 does 1/500 as well.

    you're right, it was a d70 he was talking about, not a d40.
