Shoot Through Umbrella Test with Grandson

Here are a few shots with my grandson. I am not happy with them. I kept getting a shadow on the wall. I tried moving the light and moving him away from the wall. I even opened the curtains to let some light in from the back but that didn't work.

he's too close to the wall i the bottom line. try also having your umbrella a bit higher up so that any shadow is lower down.

There were some shots where he was about 4 feet from the wall and the umbrella was about 6 feet to the center of the umbrella and at a 45 degree angle. I will keep trying.

    Thanks for the help

The closer the umbrella to the subject, the softer the light will be. So try to keep the umbrella less than 3' from the subject.
