    No I cannot adjust it down that far. I need to get a swivel adapter.

    Frank, is the hole for the shaft angled? Or, maybe you just got it upside down or something?

    The hole looks level, I am going to get a mini ball head. I should have done more reading before I ordered this. The mini ball head will fix that.

    It's gonna happen no matter what bracket you buy unless it has a built in rotating head/mount.
    The taller the flash, the less centered it will be.
    You're not losing much light shooting trough but you will lose a little more if you're using a reflective umbrella.
