Hehe. I am actually legally blind. Though, I do regret picking a screen name that focuses so much on that fact, now. Oh well.

Yes, the online community has certainly helped me improve over time. Nothing like getting a good critique from people who have absolutely no reason to hold back in fear of hurting your feelings. Sounds a little cynical indeed. But I disagee with the statement that people here criticise aggressively. Members of this forum are quite moderate.
The way I see it is that it's good to get comments from fellow photographers who know what they are looking at. I understand what you mean though.
Yeah, my statement came across much more harshly than I had intended - no malice meant toward the other guys here. I see very little slashing of other peoples' efforts on here. I only meant to contrast the critiques one receives here with those of friends/family. Your point of getting feedback from fellow photographers is much more relevant and to the point than what I had posted.
I have generally found that the critique here has been more constructive than destructive. Certainly people post for validation, but many are also looking for fresh eyes after staring at an image too long to see the options.
Tim - loving the happy Duck!!
Here's a bit of a shock we got while out walking in the new forest
We walked up a path and through a break in the bushes and came face to face with this chap...
Nice one Goeff. The horns look 3D.
I know what you mean by a bit of 'a shock'. I had similar experience one with a group of friends. We were walking down a quiet country lane when suddenly, around the bend, we saw a young startled bull. Lucky it wasn't crazy enough to chase us or we'd have nowhere to go.
