Nice gator, but i wish the snout and eyes were in focus. Still the eyes are the most important part and being sharp they make the shot. Is that bit of fur in the foreground bait, the family dog or both?
Yep, wish the tip of the snout was a little crisper too. It was a compromise. The tuft is a downy feather that I was going to remove before taking the shot, but didn't want him to change his position (or have his jaws wrapped around my finger).

I was down at the botanical gardens for a few hours today with the Olympus XZ-1. Spent most of my time searching for the poison dart frogs they have running loose in the tropical house. These frogs are about as big as my thumb nail. On a good day I can find 15-20 and on a better day some of those are close enough to get decent photos. This one was hanging around a couple of leaves right next to the walkway.
