    Old Barn in the Snow

I seen this old barn about 100 yards off the road so I stopped and snapped a few shots. I processed two of these different. Please post comments as to which is better if any. I will post later what I did to each.

    Thanks

    Frank

I think #2 is a better composition. The cut grass sticking out of the snow at a diagonal to your frame of reference tends to distract the eye away from the Barns.

Next time, try different angles of approach if you can. For example, if you had moved to the right, the lines of the grass through the snow would follow and lead the viewer's eye towards the barns.

I would recommend checking out some of the works by Bernd and Hilla Becher featured in New Topographics where they do an eight or nine photographic compositions of abandoned coal rendering plants. http://www.lacma.org/art/ExhibTopo.aspx

I flipped the foreground and darkened the silos.

    Thanks for the comments
