I absolutely agree. There's some really great shots submitted. I'm taking much greater consideration in subject matter, composition and technique for any future submissions.

Some of the picture's I would have really liked to submit fell just outside of the competition's Nov, 2009 - Feb 15, 2010 time limits for dates the images were taken.

I suppose it would be cheating to edit the EXIF.

Yeah, I think that would probably disqualify someone. Of course, one of my fears is that the contest is sponsored by C$@)n and that the judges will check the EXIF, see the shots were taken with a Sony.

Thumbs up Best of College Photography 2010

On a different note, my photography teacher last semester encouraged me to submit some of my work to a contest for college photography students through Photographer's Forum Magazine.

Well, I just got notification that one of my photos made the finalist selection group and will appear in a hardbound book, Best of College Photography 2010. Not bad when you consider the fact that 13,957 photos were submitted for consideration.

In my opinion, it was the simplest shot.

The other color shots I submitted were:

I also included two B&W film shots, developed and enlarged by myself as part of my class last semester.

Fewer distractions with simplicity! Emphasizes the subject.
I like the grass (Landscape) as well; moody low key.
