Lost Z2, Need a cheap used compact
I lost my Fuji Z2 a while back and need a cheap 2nd hand replacement - cheap as in under $50 shipped. It should be compact and pocketable, and hopefully go wider than 35mm equivalent. I'm not expecting too much otherwise give the price constraints. I don't see _any_ Z2's on ebay, there were a couple Z1s. That camera had its limits - flash would either blow out or be too dim - but it did well for a truly pocketable camera.
What are the best picks in 2nd hand Canon Elphs? Those are said to be well made.
Standard form answers below:
Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
$50 total off ebay or Craig's. This is a temporary camera to take photo for the purpose of selling things.
Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
Small; ideally trouser pocket but overcoat or jacket pocket is OK.
Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
Would rather have fewer MP (5) in a compact camera, but newer models have inflated MP count. Echh.
* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
At the price, I'm happy it if works! Going to 30mm equivalent or wider is nice if possible.
* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
Moderately good is enough, but overexposed flash is bad unless it can be corrected.
Do you care for manual controls?
If available I would use them.
General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for?
Posting items for sale, and to keep handy for unexpected unusual scenes.
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Not with a camera this cheap!
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
Yes
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
Might be used for movies, but not expecting too much.
Miscellaneous
Are there particular brands you like or hate?
Are there particular models you already have in mind?
If I happened across a Fuji Z3 or 5 in black or brown cheap enough I would get one; the glass LCD + sliding cover protect it while in your pocket. One of those has a tripod socket.
Otherwise a Canon Elph or Panasonic is probably better; either would probably do a better job producing photos. BUT I have very little knowledge of what's available; there may be something much better suited to this role (cheap and not too large). **I don't want a plastic bodied camera or one that feels flimsy.
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
IS and wide angle would be very nice, but not likely for the $$. Should have a tripod socket.
