I wish I had a long, fast prime to shoot with.
    I was relegated to a D300 and 24-85 f/3.5-f/4.5.
It does not provide sufficient contrast and background blur for my liking.

I see something else in some of your photos that I have nearly lost: the creative eye.
You drum shot is outstanding, I wish I had the opportunity to open my creative side and get this type of shot at our parade yesterday.

    Overall, great job, CDI.

Lots of flashes and Honl gear.

Thanks all. This is the first time I've used the 135L exclusively. I wish I brought my 24-70 though, because there was a large-ish float designed to be read from the sidewalk. I couldn't capture it in its entirety.

As for processing, not much beyond what the camera already does, except I let Lightroom do it instead. Adjusted my WB and Exposure a bit and that's basically it. Some were cropped to straighten.

No tripod, Adam. I was shooting 1/4000th so I didn't need one. Plus I was walking between the parade marchers for some shots like the last one, so a tripod wouldn't have worked.
    Ouch.
