Well, I now have an invite to photograph Dan Seals, from the group England Dan & John Ford Coley. I feel I should pass this opportunity with our resident shoulder-rubbing rock star, Sean Hoxworth. Mr. Seals is visiting the College, next week, and they want "the shot."
Anyway ... I will bring the portrait lens and a reflector or two ... and maybe get lucky.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

There is NO reason to ever release your right to use and reuse any shot you took. The paper may pay you for the right to use and reuse the shot as they see fit, which may reduce its value, if it still had any. But no one I know would ever agree to turn over exclusive rights to any shots to the purchaser for any amount most would ever agree to pay. I have heard of agreements like that in the past, but those went out with the film era.

 Gotta get some air ...
Here are a couple shots from tonight's basketball game between Oakton Community (Guests) and Wilbur Wright College (Home). Oakton had an early lead, lost it and then ran it back up to win pretty convincingly. It was a good game.
Although I had also brought the Rokinon 85mm f/1.4, Minolta 200mm f/2.8 APO G HS, TAMRON 28~75mm f/2.8 & K-M 17~35 f/2.8-4 "D", I used the SONY CZ 135mm f/1.8 for the entire game. It seemed to be just fine for most work, from my location.

Well, 22 of my images when into this issue of the college paper. That reverse lay-up shot from the men's basketball made the front page! YES! It is absolutely amazing ... yet, no calls. LOL
From what i thought was initially going to be a slim assignment schedule, after Thanksgiving, it exploded with shot after shot. That's my kind of paycheck! 
Anyway ... even with this additional roll of cash, it still is not enough for a new medium-cost lens, yet. I mean it is close, but photography requires good equipment. I do not know how you kids do it?
