    Question Collar Compatibility

Is the outer collar of the viewfinder for the α100 and the α850/α900 the same? I suspect not, because there is a viewfinder window cover that has an armature that runs along the left hand side ... next to the viewfinder.

It sticks out about an eighth of an inch ... in prohibits anything sliding over it. The α850/α900 eye pad has a groove cut out of it to accommodate this projection. I suppose you could custom "mill" your own for the device to attach properly.

The device looks to be around $400 for a bundled kit ... but requires an $83 cable to extend it another 33 ft. Man, that price is definitely climbing quick when you start adding a remote capability to it.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.
