You know what really makes me smile about all this is that SONY is NOT going to fold all this up and become a non-player. I think we all are in for some real surprises in the near future. They have a game plan ... and based on what I have seen ... it is being steadily played out.
Onward, you Canoneers!

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography. flickr® & Sdi
Yeah. kind of reminds me of what happened when the α700 first came out ... and there was a migration to SONY to get the "Super SteadyShot" inside. Heck, it made my decision agonizingly easy. Still does.
There are those who want the bells & whistles. Then there are those who would like serious improvement. Then there are those who are just sticks in the mud and say ... be patient.
SONY has something in the pipe ... so if you already have the "serious" glass, waiting might just be the real pay-off. Anyway, go take some pictures and put something on that Compact Flash or SONY Memory Stick. That's why you have the camera, right?
I've been waiting for an a700 type replacement (APS-C with video) since last year.....

What kind of package did you get?
If there's one that looks a bit cheesy it's the Rebel's and the Sony's with the bright red
But congrats! So, what lens? And what is this store that let you return your camera? lol
