    That`s a decent tripot and what if it is a bit heavy? Who wants to carry a tripot of any weight all day? I dont. I take a small one if I go out for the day.

    Hey guys, give Cascadingshadows a break. Wouldn't each of you be absolutely thrilled if your spouse bought you camera gear.

    And, hey, I'm still lugging an aluminum tripod/monopod combination that weighs close to 10 pounds around. But I tell you, my lighter compact tripod simply cannot support the weight of the A900 Tamron 70-200mm combination. Nothing quite like watching the ball-head (fully tightened) with you camera simply starting to roll back from the weight as you're running back to the tripod. My heavy duty tripod - absolutely no worries.

    That particular model tripod is also used by LF photographers. Sometimes LF cams can get pretty heavy themselves. I wouldn't mind having one for my 4x5 monorail.
