Hi Frinky:

The FW-190 is located at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, California. It was on display for the monthly seminar. An old German pilot was talking about his flying experience, but I wandered off for pictures and missed most all of the talk :-)

Funny you should mention the swastika. Photobucket took down that image, but I asked them to restore it and apparently they have. I had an issue once before with a museum sign that had a portrait of Hitler and a photo of him standing in the touring car which was the exhibit the sign was for... they put that back, too.

Now this was FUN! Gift my wife gave me for Christmas.

T-6 Texan trainer. Will hold off on other wing shots as advertises the firm offering the rides - but was fun none the less. Only downside, it was a cloudy day.

This was a video capture so not photographically that clear.

Found some defects, fortunately not the critical.

Cracks on a fuselage it is not critical - the tail beam enters deeply into a fuselage


Speed Controller isn't fixed and dangles over servos on wires. Glued over the receiver on a bilateral adhesive tape


Short screws of fastening of tail unit. Must be at least 15 mm


Also causes suspicion a fairing of the main landing gear. The very shaky. Fastening places to racks cyaoacrylate glue.

Fuselage covering by the reinforced adhesive tape. Allows to make "Belly landing".
Covering by an adhesive tape made with hair dryer. Temperature of air stream near 100°C. On a hand which we smooth an adhesive tape is dressed a woolen mitten


Covering all carrying surfaces by adhesive tape. Buy here such wide (25 cm) adhesive tape


Comparison of rigidity of wings. At the left - not covered wing. on the right a wing covered by an adhesive tape.


Strengthening of fastening the stabilizer by the reinforced adhesive tape.
Experience showed that it is necessary to do similar strengthening on vertical tail, in a place of its fastening (see more - First flights)
