    It's entirely possible it's one of those things that didn't make it in to the A850 from the A900.

    Red face Buzz ... good catch!

    You know something ... that's it. The minuscule amount of connect/no connect is very deceiving, Steve. There is a minor click that occurs when the flash is pushed entirely on. One I have not noticed with the A700.

    Uh, oops.

    With the A700's built-in flash ... you get the lightning bolt with the flash extended. On the A850 ... there is no built-in flash. All light is external.

    That was a close one. OMG ... the wear from my other flashes has reduced it on my a700 ... it is so subtle ... that final click, when the flash is properly seated.

    You have to push the button on the side to get it off too....last time i was at the camera shop some guy ripped the top off his camera

    I am tender with the equipment ... you almost have to be.
