    My Granddaughter in a Soybean Field

    I just tried to edit this image again using a tutorial I watched from Lynda.com. The original need alot of work because the sun and right overhead.

    I tried to color correct it by adjusting the CMYK through the Red, Green and Blue channels.I cannot seem to get it right. This is the second time I tried to do it this way. I need to watch the toturial again.

    WB is just way off. maybe try a mono conversion.

    Without knowing the persons skin tone it is hard for anyone else to say how it should look....

    I say she is probably tanned since most of Frank's family pics look like they are tanned!

    no its not. its quite easy. the instant i saw that shot i saw the ugly yellow colour cast on the image and the harsh contrasty light which is very unflattering. don't make things so complicated, trust your eyes.

    Yes, I am Italian. Her skin was fair here because it was around Halloween. I will try again later. I just wanted to try what I watched on the tutorial.

    Did you do any yellowing with some kind of wand tool?

    I was just trying to color correct the image using the CMYK. I picked a point on her face using the eyedropper tool used sample size 5 and set all the color channels C=12%, M=36%, Y=37% and K=0. I watched the Lynda.com tutorial Portrait Retouching. I also sharpened the eyes. Here is the original image.
