    Five lenses ... it's a start.

TAMRON releases the SP AF 60mm f/2 Di 1:1 MACRO (SONY-Mount) this November.

The lenses are there. The cameras were a little slow. Pick one and just enjoy it!
    Over which they have announced... 6 bodies? A230, 330, 380, 500, 550, and 850? 5:6, lenses:bodies.

Well ... lest we forget that "6th lens" ... that 500mm f/4 monster that is still lurking in the background. I'd like to slap that on, just to see if I can improve the shot I already have for that length. I have no doubt it will be a killer optic!

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

    Exclamation See them now!

Here's an image link to Flickr ... and SONY's promo shots

Jason, I think we got as much into this anti-climatic announcement as we could.

Now ... I have to get me one! LOL

Yeah, the A850 was already out of the bag, and the A5x0 are kinda boring. Not bad but I thought they might be A700 replacement instead of filling a gap between the A3x0 and the A700.

I agree, but wonder what the difference is in that and the Tamron 28-75 for half the price.

It seems kinda odd to have a 28-75 f/2.8 and a 24-70 f/2.8. Might be fair to compare that to Canon having a lower tier of L lenses.

    Question What's in a switch? Roughly $300, I'd say.

The new SONY AF 28-75mm f/2.8 is manufactured by TAMRON, like the 18-200 and 18-250 are, excepted it is 'wrapped' in the familiar SONY lens-coat and ... with the added AF/MF switch on the lens cowl. Otherwise, the optic is identical ... and far more expensive than the TAMRON SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO (SONY-Mount) ... for that little M/Fin' switch.
