A little further review
After taking a few more shots with the MF 8mm f/3.5 mounted on the α850, I can honestly say I like it a whole lot better on the APS-C sensor (α700, α550, α500 etc), not the Full Frame.
Now, the TAMRON SP AF 14mm f/2.8 LD is a whole lot more friendly on the Full Frame and definitely with nicer image quality.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.
