    Thumbs up A review

I found a half decent review of this 8mm f/3.5 lens. I suppose until I try it, myself, I'll have to trust these people.

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

The first shot ... uncorrected fisheye

The 8mm arrived this afternoon ... so I ran it up stairs, shoved the A700 out the window and pulled the trigger.

That tree is nearly forty feet tall.

Using HDR to reduce shadow intensity ...

    Thumbs up I want MORE!

This is a neat lens, because you cannot see the top of that tree, from just looking out the window. It doesn't miss much.

These are all on the A700, so there is the APS-C cropping factor to consider.

Here's a 17mm shot with the TAMRON 17-50mm f/2.8 ... so you can appreciate how putting this baby on really opens things up.

No ... no such availability. My SP AF 14mm f/2.8 LD has that capability.

Talking Seeing a whole lot more ...

I placed the 8mm f/3.5 on the new α850 Full Frame ... and suddenly the protective ears of the lens shield (upper and lower) are now in the frame, too.
Looks like they will need to be removed ... or cropped out. This Full Frame is really opening things up.
