I was just thinking this same thing. Rooz, you aren't? lol I guess that would make me more excited than you! Couple reasons, one being I'm interested in seeing what the potential benefits for Sony are, although the D300s looks like it will have the same sensor? (We'll see in a few hours) and the D3000 will probably have the same D5000/D90 sensor (also found in the A700).
Ah well, I'm still excited! The prospect of a more refined HD mode is very welcomed.
i was referring to the lens' announcements mainly.
70-200/2.8 II - yeah, this will be a cracking lens for sure but not one i'm personally wanting.
18-200VR II - again, a worthwhile upgrade but not so much of interest to me.
wanna get me excited about glass ? give me...

as for the bodies a d3000 is not for me, its a basic model which will be cool for entry level but no real exictment for me.the d300s and d700s(??) look to be a d300/d700 with video so for me its not a big deal until they get video AF working much better. i'm convinced video is the way to go in dslr but i suspect its a generation or 2 away before its something i'll buy into.
wanna get me excited about a body ?
give me a d700 body and sensor with a flip screen and video that works flawlessly.

Hmmm, I think I would be satisfied with the $200 35mm F/1.8 that keeps flying off the shelves. I wonder how much a Nikon 35mm F/1.4 would go for? Sony's G version is pretty crappy and sells for ~$1350 and Canon's is ~$1250. A 200mm F/4 VR micro (macro) would be awesome. I could probably finally get close enough to some of the insects that just run away when they see me. Lastly, a new 300mm F/4 VR would be great too. I think I would sacrifice 200mm F/2.8 for another stop to get to 300mm!
A D3000 if it's small may be what I'm looking for potentially as a small decent camera that I can stick a 50mm equivalent on, then again I'll probably got the point and shoot route some time later on (Panasonic LX).
My only real interest is in the price of the new 70-200 f2.8.
If it's the same or similar to the current lens it should drive the price on the used ones down (and maybe get a heap more on the market). If it's substantially more expensive then the used ones will be heading up in price and all of the ones I have seen go on ebay for what I thought was silly money may suddenly look like good deals.
