    Only lens i have ever dropped was on old rokkor 35mm ...rolled down 30 ft of concrete under some bleachers.. Hit the bottom and survived with a minor dent ...i used it for about 10 more years till i sold the camera

    Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

    I did a similar thing with a 24mm MD W-Rokkor f2.8 and scuffed the front element.
    If anyone has a faulty one of these (other than the front element) I'd love to know.

    Wow I feel lucky haven't dropped the camera or a lens yet, whacked the lens hood into a member of marching band as I turned quickly at a game once, no damge! haven't got caught in the rain yet, and have had no problem with ebay or Amazon, other then that Minolta 70-210 3.5 - 4.5 is a piece of crap lens it does work like the well used lens it was advertised as! All I got to do is tame the gear to my will!
