Angry Problems with new pro duo card

I just recently purchased a new scandisk 8gb duo pro card from amazon (a new one, not used). When i insert it into my camera and turn the camera on, everything seems to be fine. Then I take a picture, and the picture freezes on the screen for like 2-3 minutes. Then when i go to review the picture, nothing is there. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

    Thanks

I bought this cause I am taking a trip real soon here and plan on taking a ton pics

    Thanks again

Lightbulb Getting sharked by a card

Jeff... I haven't enjoyed any problems with my SanDisk Extreme IV 8.0 GB - 133x

You might FORMAT the card and start over. I know I would.

Try formatting the camera and trying again, if not just send it back. Get yourself a compact flash card!

Not sure if its the same for the A100, but I recall the manual for the A900 saying that you had to go to the menu and manually set to have the produo card as your main storage device.

... and I racked my brains and remembered I had a similar experience with my old Kodak point and shoot. Problem, the card was not fully seated in the slot. Remove and put back in solved the problem.

Well...the little pro duo works on my old 5mp Sony cybershot(dsc-p10) with out any hitches.

In my a100, it seems to work in suuuuuppppeeeeeerrrrrrrr slow motion. I take a picture, 2-3 minutes later the little red light in the back finally goes out. Then i can review the picture. If I attempt to zoom in on it, the camera goes back into "thinking" mode. The red light comes on and I wait.

I have tried formatting the card a few times. I am really confused. I stopped messing with it in my a100. I put my old 2gb card in and it works fine.

I have NO luck at all....

Are you sure it's seating into the slot firmly? if the stick has the slightest 'bow' to it it may not click in. you are selecting memory stick for the option and not compact flash? I have a 2 and a 4GB pro duo and have had no problem what so ever. I also have had no problems with my sandisk extreme III 4 and 8 GB CF's
