    [Rumor] Sony FF under $1k

I don't believe it for a second, but if it is true, this could bring people to Sony in droves:

    http://www.photographybay.com/2009/0...me-dslrs-soon/

I do believe that they would release two new FF DSLRs. Maybe a weather-sealed built in grip like the 1D/D3 for more than the A900, and one for less than the A900. But I would be shocked to see something less than $2000.

Cool idea though. That and a few really good primes would do a lot for Sony.

well they did make a 12MP FF sensor for the D700!
may as well put it to good use and give us a low end FF!
maybe the price they are referring to is 1k Euro or Sterling.

    An A750 and A1000???

I have a hard time seeing a new FF being released for under $1K ... under $2K maybe.

I would expect that if it's true Sony is coming out with another "pro-level" FF, it would have a full body with integrated verticle grip as opposed to the add-on VG-90 or VG-70 for the A900 and A700.

I didn't know that. Did I miss something?

I've been advocating (I'm not alone) a "low end" FF camera for some time so it makes sense to me but I do agree about the price, more like $2000; Sony cannot be accused of going in cheap. Nice if they did though, shake things up for sure.

The D700 is Nikon's Semi-Pro FF. Came out sometime last year.

    Yup he does.

I doubt these latest batch of rumors are true..... just too good to be true. I saw one of an a130 with HD video, no LV ... now what???? lol...

I really don't want to get my hopes up. It's good though, they want to put video in their future line.

I think you did what I did initially. When I first read it, I thought I didn't know they developed an FF for the A700, and then I read it again and realized the reference was to the Nikon D700.
