Tamron makes lenses for Nikon mount, Canon mount, Sony mount.... etc. the difference is the mount not the body. I doubt anyone can tell.

Yeah, thats what I thought, but I don't know the mounts well and hoped there might be a ready giveaway that was visible. The seller is supposed to take some close up pictures of mount for me.

If the seller does not know what mount it has they cannot possibly have used it so how can they make any sort of truthful representations about it's condition or whether it even works.
IMO it's worth $0 at the moment.

Alot of the times, you will see auctions where the seller states they cant test the product or insure that it will work, so its sold "As is". Say a family member dies, and someone is left their Estate, and decides to sell everything, and they know nothing about camera equipment.... I dont think thats any fault of the seller.

My Sigma lens rear cap has the writing "For Nikon" on it. Tamron must have some similar lens mount ID.
What you can do is to ask the seller what the writing says? For Canon, For Nikon; etc. If they can't tell I guess you won't buy.

Tim took the words right out of my mouth. How much do they want for the lens? Is it worth taking the risk that the lens might not work? Will they take returns?

Ok, seller sent me a couple more pictures. Terrible quality, and unfortunately, not Nikon mount. I am curious what it is though:

And in answer to other questions, yep, seller accepts returns, is rated 100% and its selling for 25 bucks (I've spent 25 bucks in dumber places). Just snooping for a Tamron 90mm Macro lens and happened across this. As I mentioned in the D50 thread, I don't like buying used electronics, but I'll violate the rule every now and again for a good deal or a good seller.
