tamron 17-50 2.8
Sony SAL 11-18
Sony 35 1.8
Well ... I have an 18-200 (Canon-mount) that I cannot seem to get rid of. It is effectively new ... used for about two months and then retired to the box. I cannot recommend this lens since the 18-250 replaced it and with amazing results.
Since you are deciding to move AHEAD with your photography, do waste your money on this one and just get the 18-250, if a one lens solution is what you desire. Your images will be of far more quality, for a reasonable initial cost ... and that, in my opinion, is what this is ALL about.
Historically, the 28-200 f/3.8-5.6 (M.F.D. = 6.7 feet) had the market till around 2004
Then, TAMRON released the first digital "all-in-one lens", the 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3
The 18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 was the next
They released a 28-200 f/3.5-6.3 with a shorter MFD
The replacement and improvement is the 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3
The latest is only available in Canon & Nikon ... the 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 VC (built-in stability)

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography. flickr® & Sdi
