Hey Don, looks like Sony incorporated your INFO button!
-
Wow, seems like they've really dumbed down the camera a lot. A graph for shutter speed and aperture, really?
Where's the SSS button gone? lol
I'm quite disappointed. It looks no different from my camera....
As someone at dyxum pointed out
Local Russian Sony web site:
http://www.sony.ru/hub/dslr/block/2/subblock/1
3 new camera's
a230 - smallest DSLR with SSS inside
a330 - a230 + Quick AF Live View + "rotating" screen
a380 - a330 + 14Mpx
No new
- DSLR on CMOS,
- no new AF module,
- no video.
New
+ graphic user friendly screen,
+ in camera help
It seems they really have dumbed the camera down quite a bit. A graph for shutter speed and aperture? Really? *sigh
Worst of all, no video. Ok, where's the A720 (think it would be a better name) or A800..... ?
The only good thing that could come of this is since the camera looks the same, maybe I will get a firmware update?

Notice who didn't get any credit for his idea, either. LOL ... that's how it plays, I guess.
You'd think someone would say "Hey, that was our guy who suggested that!"
Oh, hey Elisha, I think you did!
BIG THANKS

didn't you bring this up on the Sony 101 Backstage forums as well?
if you did, you should hound those employees about it!
-
That's like taking a flashlight into a coal mine ... they don't listen to anything they do not want to hear. You should see what happened when I brought up a "marketing plan" for advanced lenses (Zeiss & G) to be available for sale and inspection in the SONY Style stores. I swear, the silence was deafening. You could have heard a pin drop.
Anyway, SONY made it happen ... and I have to give them credit for the quick implementation. Probably was the best and overall most cost-effective idea for the newbies I could come up with. You could only have done this with a digital camera. I need to go give TCav hell, now. LOL
Go get 'em, tigers!

that forum is so messy that i gave up going to it after a few visits!
they either ignore the question or blindly defend something without the proper facts!

Zeiss and G lenses, even if it's a select few (well there really aren't that many) would be nice to have in the Stores.
So, is it not disappointing that the camera specs don't seem to have changed in a year's time?

I think it has to do with the way they implement their LV, which is better than CaNikon, but doesn't allow for video. Laydros explained it in another thread. It only allows for like 320x240 resolution or something really small.

too bad because they are gonna lose market share over this!
i can just hear it now.....all the sale people are gonna be pushing the T1i and the D5000 not only cause it is a Canikon but cause it will do video as well!
