Movin South
10 years in LA has been about enough ... its back to country living in San Diego.
Closed escrow just over a week ago.
So my spouse and I are moving from here:

To here:

This week was spent working on the new house laying hardwood floors ... not the snap and click type.

But so far the hard work has been worth it just to be able to walk outside to the deck and capture shots like this ...

Congrats on the new home. That's a very nice view to have right outside. Hope you never take the view for granted

Very beautiful, might take a little longer to get to the grocery store though lol

7 miles to store and all conveniences is not bad at all. There are only about 7 house in the entire area, two others on our private lane. The rest is US Fish & Game protected habitat and Syquan Indian reservation. So it is unlikely to be developed for quite some time, if at all.

Looks good to me, Darin but that's quite a lifestyle change. Hope it all works out.
Fish & Game reserve, ehh. Maybe Hunting & Fishing will take over from Photography?

It is quite a lifestyle change, but one I'm used to. Before moving to LA, I lived here:

The biggest lifestyle change is that the property is not on "the grid." It's solar powered with generator back-up.
As far as hunting, that's not really on the list because the government land is protected habitat. Although, wild turkeys do come on to the property ....

This is me (orange blob).
Out in the country but you're never far from civilisation here in the UK.
-
This shows how bad I am at UK counties - I thought Monmouthshire was in scotland
We were down your way a couple of weeks ago Peekayoh; spent a couple of nights in Gloucester.
That looks a great location DWessel - my wife would never move anywhere like that as 7 miles is still to far to the shops!
