I wanted to see what it would look like on a sports image. This is from one of my sons FDNY football games. What do you think?

I say hmnnnnnnnn, I don't know, it seems 'cool' really draws your eye to the image, and makes you go huh thats neat. But then something just doesn't seem 'right' but then again I may not know what I'm talking about!

Just something to try out. I really like the second one. You need the right image. I am thinking of going to my sons firehouse and taking some pictures of him with the fire truck. I think that might look good. He is about 2 hours away so it isn't an easy shoot.
    Thanks

i like it. the effect can be done in photomatix too. it is a variation of the HDR theme and effect. http://www.hdrsoft.com/gallery/gallery.php?id=41&gid=0

I agree frank the 'biker dudes' phots seemed to work better, again I really don't know anything about these effects is there a suggestion for what kinds of images it is best applied to, or anything like that? looking at the 3 images you put up I am thinking lots of 'textures' plenty of bricks, stones, carved relief in stonework, wrought iron, maybe clothing with layers? like leather jackets with patches and buttons. Maybe talk a walk in a old cemetary?

Thanks Rooz I will check out that link.
I just keep trying different images. It is new to me. It is almost like the Norman Rockwell effect i was told. I did look at some of his work and it is similar. I think I would have to tone them down a little. I tend to over do all my PP. LOL (so I was told)

    Thanks

i think you have to seperate your PP into 2 streams frank.

there is "tune up" PP which is applied to normal everday images. then there's "full rebuild" PP which is completely altering the image for a specific effect.
