    Focus on a water drop

    I tried my first water drops but it looks as if my focus is not so good, or do I need glasses?

    I loaded my wife`s zink with water and focused on a object that I put on the spot where the drop hit the water. I did not use a flash. I had a window close to the zink and a extra lamp next to the zink. These 2 photo`s were the best of about 50 photo`s I took but it still looks a bit out of focus.
    Any ideas?

    Lightbulb DOF too shallow.

    The Depth of Field is extremely tight ... this close you should probably be at an aperture of f/4 or maybe even f/5. Add some more light if you need to and tighten it up.

    If you look close at your second shot, you will actually see the focal transition or focal plane taking place right through the center of your splash.

    Cool hmmm, from what I can tell ...

    I believe he is sporting a SONY α300, a 28mm f/2.8 PRIME and a 70-210 "beercan", but I'm just guessing, Frank.
