Well it's also the fact that the Sony shutters (mirror flaps) are noisy and yes, I know greener on the other side, lol. I was just dreaming and optical VR is better for the longer lengths. A new system also gives more things to buy (with money I don't have) and mess with (flashes, a select few lenses on the tele end that Sony lacks, etc...) Rooz, what's missing? That said, an a700 is next to buy.
For Sony, I really like the 16-35mm CZ and 24-70mm CZ. I think those two are an absolute winner. For the 24-70mm class, I think it's the best lens out of the bunch.
Speaking of the Tamron and guitar concerts. From tonight.
Taken with a Sony DSLR-A300 handheld, props to SSS, was off, and realized so I turned it on and bam!

Thanks, so what was it you were interested in Canon's lineup? Seems like you have everything you would need. I would love to have your setup!

Nice one, dr4gon, and he's wearing black today.
1/15 at 200mm, that's pretty impressive as well!

That f/4 L glass was a big deal for me. I think Nikon has the best bodies, but Sony offers IS on the 16-35 and 24-70, and Canon offers the best selection of glass, in particular the f/4 L zooms and some of the L primes.
Kinda amplifies the grass is greener effect.

Jason there may be new body for Sony around the corner so to speak? Is there anyplace or anyone you can try out and get a feel for the A700? If you do a platform change over I do hope you continue to post and visit here as well as on flickr. I myself am still pretty new to Sony, I keep hoping that they will get some of these system bugs worked out or at least smoothed out, You already have a investment here, and plenty of Minolta glass around if you want to go old school. What ever path you choose you will always be welcome here.

Thanks for the "reinvitation." I really enjoy chatting with the group here. So much of what we discuss isn't really platform specific anyway.
I hate to say it, but it was the A700 that did it for me. I went into a Wolf (the day they announced bankrupcy infact) and held a 50D and an A700 back to back. I shot with each of them, played with settings, etc. And I just REALLY liked the feel of the 50D more than the A700, or the D90/D80 for that matter. The A700 is awesome, but it was one of those gut feeling type of things. I posted about it a little, but that was really when I made up my mind. Of course I ended up not getting a 50D/40D, which makes it seem kinda stupid, but I expect to get one soon.
