I had purchased Noise Ninja a couple of years ago. After computer problems I had lost it. I just e-mailed them to retrieve my license #. I just installed it again. I put this photo of the orchid on the other day.

First is the original, then the pp using Noise Ninja. Of course I am looking for all comments, critiques, and any other comments.
They look identical to me except that the bottom one looks oversharpened. To be able to see a difference in noise, you need to show us a 100% crop. To do that, go back to your original photo and NN version and crop each one to the same small bit (in a noisy location.) Make it so the entire crop is 400 - 800 pixels or less. Then save each one with a new name and upload them. That way we'll see it displayed at 100% and it will still fit on our screen. Then you can get feedback on the effectiveness of your noise reduction. hth
Maybe grab that lower right hand corner for a good test? I have the freeware version of NN but haven't played with it yet, I should run some of my ISO 3200 basketball shots through it.

Amounts of noise look the same. In fact noise is more evident in second because it is so oversharppened (as mentioned). NN should work better than this. I've never used it to sharpen though, just to take out noise (opposite effect really).
Ok I finally got a chance to get back to this. I am still trying to find the magic combination for this. But here goes.
The first is the original at 100% crop. Then the 100% crop with nn. Then I tried again with the flower. You can easily overdue it with nn, so it is a program to play around with and get a feel for.
It is amazing how much of a drop off a lens can have. It should not even let you shoot at f/22. Where did you find this chart? I would like to see where I should be with my Tamaron 70-300. Or should I be afraid to ask. LOL Thanks for the eye opener Rooz.
