    5d mk II and a 16-35mm f/2.8L

picked it up for $825 shipped(lens only, already had the camera)! don't know how the other bidders missed this one, but i got it for the starting bid last week.

nothing special though, just a few pictures i took tonight. calibrated the focus as well as i could, seemed to have a little bit of back focusing, but pretty much dead on now with the 5d II's micro adjustments.

no rhyme or reason to the pics, just posting up that i have this lens now and i'm pretty excited about it.

    all shot at f/2.8

Wow, that was a sweet deal man.

New this could run up to like 2,5 to 3,ooo easily.

825, for the camery body alone would still be amazing deal, but with the lens. I dont know thats one sweet deal, almost too sweet, i honestly wouldn't of bought it at that price thinking there was somethign wrong, but then again maybe i would of just missed out.

    So congrats to you.

yea, got the lens for $825. sorry for the confusion. the thread was meant to say the 16-35 is on a full frame and not a crop camera.

it's the original version of the 16-35, they go for around $950-1000 on ebay. i've seen some end at $925, but never for $800 + shipping. i had been watching the lens all week..and no bids which i thought was strange. when there was an hour left i started doing searches and i never could find it. only through my watched items. so when there was a minute left, i dropped a lowball bid and won it for the starting bid.

it's an older copy(2002) and shows some wear on the body, but the glass is pristine and it's sharp. the only complaint would be the back focusing but thanks to the 5d II that's fixed now.

that monday i saw a 20-35mm f/2.8L for $450 buy it now...might have made more sense for me financially and maybe even functionally, but i'm pretty happy to have the 16mm on the FF, it's pretty crazy.

thanks! actually used the money i got from selling my r6 to buy this lens. i plan to sell the 17-55 and 30mm and get the 35L now.

i've really come to appreciate the 5d II for more than just ISO 6400. after doing the micro adjustments for the 16-35 and the 30mm, focus is dead on for both of them!

    SWEET purchase man!

I've rented the 16-35 II for events and love that lens.

On the MK2n there is some distortion the more you move toward the edges.

Your building quite a nice collection of glass! Have you considered the 24-70?

Sweet deal on the 16-35 mkI Adam.

I completely understand; the one feature that I really crave on my bodies is that AF micro-adjust feature.
