I tried to look at these a little differently. Spent a bit more time in camera setup and then in PP. Please C&C both shots and processing, and welcome image manipulation with an explanation. Thanks!
All are available at my flickr site in full size. I set the exposure compensation -1 EV for the snow, but ended up bumping exposure a bit in each.

Sorry, Pal, these are underexposed for me. Grey whites and muddy in the dark areas.
I looked at the "originals" on flickr and the detail looks most peculiar, maybe due to compression but I'm not familiar with flickr so can't be definitive.

Then you're in a bit of trouble, Sean.
You said "on your laptop" so I assume you downloaded the file. Open it in PS and in the info window you will see colour data for the pixels as you run the cursor over them. The RGB data for a white pixel is 255 255 255 (anything over 250 is OK)
hmmmmmm I suspected as much, you know you 'get used' to seeing something every day and you don't notice the differnce as much. i need to color adjust this screen. I mean it really isn't bad but when you see tings that you 'know' should be much brighter or darker then you wonder. Thanks Peter
