LR2 B&W problems
Anyone have this annoying problem where you're shooting in black&white on the camera and lightroom decides to switch to color when it imports?
I have a pre-set b&w in my camera and when lightroom switches it, it kinda fucks it up where i need to actually work the photo to get it back to what i shot it as.
Not to mention its a heck more work for my contact sheets after : (
Anyone know a way to tell lr2 to stop switching em ? i couldn't find anything in the settings and google just keeps pointing me to tutorials about other stuff.

Maybe you might like to modify the language and repost in the software section of the forum.

Im not sure what you mean by modify the language ?
And i went in the software section and got this :
"There have been no posts in the last 30 days in this forum."
So, i thought it useless to post in there at this point.
I managed to get a useful post from the LR forum, aparently this isn't supported at all. Though they are trying to with some beta profiles and editors.

#1 I don't know why you'd shoot b&w in-camera, but anyway.........If you're shooting RAW then that's the way it works, at least on a Canon. The b&w is a picture style and would be applied if you opened up in DPP. Adobe doesn't really recognize the in-camera picture styles. Only advice I can give you is to make the settings a preset in LR where you can apply it to the image.

Because thats how i started & what im used to. If anything i turn the image to color in pp.
I find this a big problem though, not just for black&whites but i mean for picture styles in general, i have my sharpness/contrast/etc all set to something and it would get taken off in lr2, not to mention that in b&w i usually use a red filter.
I downloaded their camera profiles and profile editor betas, i'll give em try when i get some free time.

The camera profiles will get you a better start, but I don't think they will still allow LR to apply the in-camera picture styles, especially the b&w. The profiles are Standard, Neutral, Faithful, Landscape, & Portrait. AFAIK only DPP will do the b&w style. Once you get the settings in LR to approximate your picture styles then save it as a preset and in the future all you have to do is apply the preset.
