Oh yeah, super telephoto, looks pretty, super. BUT It's SILVER (excuse me, platinum) with an α red/orange band.

long overdue to repalce the worst kit lens ever put on the planet.

to compete with CaNikon's versions which leave the current sony's for dead. this is a good move where they can go like-to like with the canikon dual lens packages with decent, (supposedley), glass.

nice looking lens, nice focal range. a cheap 2.8 lens looks good to me. should be much better than the tamron alternatives if they put proper AF on it.

all in all, looks to be a solid move. nothing special, but apart from the 30/2.8 macro, stuff that needed to be done.

I don't know how cheap this will be. I guess ~$450ish about the same as the Tamron 17-50mm. I suppose they are looking for a budget fast FF lens.

-Can't really say anything until I know more.

-Maybe I'm being a fanboi, but I think this is a good idea. The gap needed to be filled, and if people are going to buy a FF, they will buy a 1.4. The flaw in this thinking is that many people buy FF glass for their crop sensor cameras in preperation to upgrade later. What will make it a good idea is if it is CHEAP. Like the Canon.
3）DT 30mm F2.8 Macro
-I think a 30mm DT is a good idea, like the Nikon, but why so slow? This had better be really cheap too. The macro is probably because they put the thing together, and it happened to have a good minimum focusing distance, so the marketing guys said "It's a MACRO, paint it on the side!"
4）DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6
-Yeah. Not much to say here. The thing is that the Canon and Nikon kit lenses were pretty poor, but not as bad as the KM 18-70mm. But when they put VR/IS on them, they bumped up the optics. In all my reading, people think they are great. The build quality is crap, they are slow, and the front element turns, but optically, the current CaNikon kits are great. Sony really needs this.
5）DT 55-200mm F4-5.6
- Similar statement to above, except the reviews on this give it higher marks. The current isn't a TERRIBLE lens, so I hope this one is good. The DT ~50-200 (Canon goes to 250) is a great idea. It is cheap for the DT people, but it's really nice because of the size and lower starting length than the typically better quality 75-300 lenses.
6）28-75mm F2.8
- This one gets my huh? Or WTF? If it is a rebadge of the Tamron, then its the same as the 28-75 D (not G) that KM used to sell, which certainly was a rebadge of the Tamron. Why they would drop it and bring it back I don't know. I was under the impression they were getting away from Tamron. Might be a nice lens, and apparently we don't know a price tag yet.

The problem here (and to an extent with Nikon) is you still pretty much have a choice between kit lens level glass, and pro level glass. Canon offers a series of f/4 L-quality glass. In addition, they have the 17-55 f/2.8 and 10-22 that are both not marked L because they are EF-S only, but are (in most reviews) close to L quality. Thats part of the reason I was so excited to see the rumored 16-55 f/2.8 and 24-105 f/4 G.

BTW: Uh, who wanted that 30mm MACRO? That's novel, to say the least I would have thought a good 14mm f/2.8 rectilinear would have been more useful ... and not to overlook, a lot more expensive. Covering the 600mm long and the UWA short would have been awesome.

That 600mm or 400mm (wish I knew the size of that first element) "control panel" lens and 42mm drop-in filter ... should be an investment, all by itself. That definitely should come under a "rent-to-own" contract.
