Which Camera to Replace Lost SD860IS
Have lost subject camera and need to replace. I was pleased with the 860, but would like to get advice as to a replacement.
Here's my best answers:
---------------------------------------------
Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. $200 - $250 would be nice
Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? small, but does not have to fit in shirt pocket
Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
8-10, but not into megapixel hype, just good pics
* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
the higher the better (lots of landscape shots)
* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
8.5
Do you care for manual controls?
would be nice to have some control
General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for?
quick outdoor/indoor snapshots, travel (have Rebel and some lenses for the pics where I have compose time)
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
No
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
No
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
No
Miscellaneous
Are there particular brands you like or hate?
Canon was fine, but not married to it at all
Are there particular models you already have in mind?
just the Canon SX110IS
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
wide would be sweet for landscapes, I suppose, but not a deal breaker. I liked the IS on the 860

Err, to get the wide angle I would think the answer is the Canon SD880 IS?
