Does anyone here own the 24-70L and the 35/1.4L ?

how much do you use the 135 don ? to me, it looks like the perfect candid portrait lens.

and yes, if its not already obvious, i'm thinking about running 2 systems and going for the mkII. i've shot with it a few times now and i'm giving it another go for a few more shoots in the next couple of months. the reasons are just as obvious, i prefer to shoot with primes and there is no point to me for nikon to make the best bodies if they wont update their primes. pma has basically come and gone and there are no 24/35/85/135 updates to speak of so i need to reevaluate where i'm gonna be for a move to FX.

My 135L was my most used lens. I shot most of my portraits with it because the beautiful bokeh and reach allowed me to make the model/subject at ease.
I could also get great candid shots with it--especially at weddings.

I was able to use my Tamron 1.4x on the lens when needed to.

yes, droopy's shots have really blown me away. if he can get great shots out of it then i should be ok. lol

I wonder if the IQ is very noticeable between a 5dM2 and a M1, iso 800 and lower lets say.

i;m not a good person to ask cos i think the 5d is grossly overrated. the mkII smokes it imho, not just at low iso either. its everywhere. detail, dyamic range is very notieable. i dont think people realise just how good the mkII is cos there has been so much ridiculous negative reaction to it from morons on places like dpreview.
