35/1.4 is sharper everywhere. But they're apples/oranges really.

You simply have to have both.

I dont think you'd really need the 70-200/f4 if you had the 135/2 UNLESS you were planning for sports, but you clearly said you aren't. The 70-200 would help you crop shots in landscapes better though, but again you just want people/portraits, and at f2, you'll be using the 135 more i think but i guess that depends on your shooting style.

I like this thing about doing portrait where i can tell people to stay and i can just move back and or front to get a 70-200 out of a 85 if i wanted. : D

I'd go with a 35 for a FF, personally i find it fits alot better and is easier to use. Im usually around the 35 mark with my 17-40, at 24, you're begging to go wide but aren't. so im either at 35/40, or at 17/19 to control a bit of the vignetting and distortion

how much do you use the 135 don ? to me, it looks like the perfect candid portrait lens.

and yes, if its not already obvious, i'm thinking about running 2 systems and going for the mkII. i've shot with it a few times now and i'm giving it another go for a few more shoots in the next couple of months. the reasons are just as obvious, i prefer to shoot with primes and there is no point to me for nikon to make the best bodies if they wont update their primes. pma has basically come and gone and there are no 24/35/85/135 updates to speak of so i need to reevaluate where i'm gonna be for a move to FX.
