SONY added an "interval timer" application to the A700 rev 4 upgrade, Remote Control program that allows the computer to do this for you. It could not, before.
I am not sure if the A900 has the same feature. You might want to check it out, SONYNUT

I just stumbled upon it myself, when I realized I needed an update to the Remote Control program to include the new Rev. 4 Bracket-shot settings of +/- 2 EV selections in the menu. Sorry ... they do not pay me a lot for this.
