I'm really glad my camera has a built in flash because it can trigger wireless flash. Other than that I am typically frustrated with the built in flash. It does come in handy when I want to get a shot that I would normally get with my compact, but don't have it with me. It is a stupid pompus thing that the D3, 1D (I think 5D), and a900 don't include a flash. I really appreciate that Nikon put it on the D700. I think it's the only full frame currently on the market with a built in flash.
