Man, that is great! I hope you have the capacity for these "larger" shots. That's the real part that scares the begeezus out of me ... the ancillary support costs for 24.6 MP RAW shots. PS CS4 ... Bigger containment drives ... faster system board ... more memory (4GB minimum). That's some coin, eh?
Good luck and how about reporting back on the overall performance impact you notice, too?
What lens are you planning on using for your "standard" shots?

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

I do lots of video editing...photos are no problem.lol

Went to get it...tried it. Didn't like it..looking through the veiwfinder was like looking through a peephole..round edges in all the corners.. And this was with a sony ziess lens...i hate to say it but i may be moving to nikon..

That's what it sounds like to me. When I was able to look through the viewfinder of a a900 with a 24-70CZ on I couldn't believe how big the view was.

i thought the a900 has an excellent viewfinder.

A900 has the best viewfinder it's class 100%......
You must've been using the DT 16-80mm, ... not 100% compatible with the FF, it crops and you see a vignette.

The lack of FF-lenses is what prompted my chief complaint at the SONY Style store. It may be that the salesman, wherever SONYNUT went, did not understand the difference between them, leading to confusion ... and in this case, terrible disappointment.  Can you imagine, the loss of a potential; $3000 sale, by a guy already to plunk down the wad of cash? Good lord!
All stores (SONY or not) should at least have the SONY 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens available for use on the A900, to properly demonstrate its wealth of options and capabilities. It certainly is not a high-priced lens ... but, simply does the job.
