Can I get help on these 3 choices, and another ?
I've narrowed my search to these three:
Olympus 565UZ
Canon SX10
Nikon P80.
Thoughts on these? Using AA batteries is a SERIOUS consideration for the Olympus and Canon (iirc they DO take AA batteries).
Now for the other question:
I read about Nikon's new p90 and L100. There is about a $50 difference so I'm thinking of the P90, but don't know if it takes AA batteries. Since these are new models (and the L100 isn't out yet) does anyone know anything about them?
The things that are really important are:
AA batteries
long zoom
quick flash re-set time
very small shutter lag.
Thanks!!!

p.s. AA batteries are not very important as long as I can buy another battery to keep charged and in the camera bag.

The P90 uses an EN-EL5 battery.
The L100 uses 4 x AA batteries.
The full specs are on Nikons web site.

I did read the specs...I wanted to know if anyone had any more info. Also, one thing I did not see on the Nikon web site was how long between shots in normal mode, as well as flash reset time. I'll look again...I'm concentrating on the L100 now.
Thanks!

This is the case with every camera I know of, although they all use proprietary or semi-proprietary designs which are usually stupidly expensive. But they'll hold a lot more power (especially for the weight) than NiMH rechargeables, so you should have less need to worry about running out.

My choices were narrowed down to the same as yours. I am settling on the P90. The only thing is it does not take regular batteries! I guess I can live without them! Overall I think it is a better choice over the L100.
Canon A630 for now!
